2020带给我们太多的变化与纷扰， 但是对未来我们仍然充满期待，因为变化并不仅仅潜伏危机，更是蕴含着无限的机遇。 The year 2020 is full of disruptions of various kinds. Despite all the negativity, we remain positive and hopeful for the future.  We know that we will  manage our vulnerabilities and win the battle. Change is not a threat, it is an opportunity.

      9月1日上午，2020年秋季全日制国家公派留学高级英语培训在我部顺利开班，出国培训部副主任张勇老师主持开班典礼。  On the 1st of September, the Autumn 2020Advanced English Training for Government-Sponsored Overseas Academic Visits officially kicked off at our center. The opening ceremony was hosted by Ms. Zhang Yong， vice dean of the MOE Training Center for Overseas Academic Visits.

曾传芳主任致欢迎辞    

      培训部主任曾传芳致欢迎辞。 她说，在人类历史上，民族之间、国家之间的交往从来没有像今天这样密切、直接、大规模。有专家断言，在整个20世纪发生的国与国之间在意识形态领域的冲突，在21世纪将可能演变为文化之间的冲突。跨文化交流在新世纪的重要作用不言而喻。这个时代大背景要求我们更有担当，我们要进行高效的跨文化交流，用别人听得懂的语言表达我们的观点、呈现我们的文化。换言之，就是用别人听得懂的语言来讲述我们自己的故事，讲好中国故事。   Professor Zeng says,  Human history has never witnessed such intensive and direct communication between nations and countries.  Somescholars predict that conflicts between ideologies in the 20th century will turn into conflicts of cultures in the 21st century, thus inter-culturalcommunication will play an increasingly important role in the new century. We are  required to be able to have highly effective cross-culturalcommunication competence and to present our viewpoints and our culture in a language understandable to others. In other words, we should tell our own stories, good Chinese stories, in the language of the listeners.  

                              积跬步 才能致千里  刘华老师与新学员分享外语学习心得  

       刘华老师向学员们分享了她对学习的感悟。她说，要有信心，有耐心，在老师的指导和帮助下，才能品味学习的乐趣和成果。要坚持，不放弃，积跬步，才能致千里。每天进步一点点，日积月累，才会有外语学习质的飞跃。Professor Liu Hua shares her own secret of language learning with the students.  Put your trust in us, we will return you with surprise! Being patient with your teachers,  follow  the guidance and instructions given by them. Take baby steps on a daily basis.  How far you can go is  determined by how early you start taking baby steps and whether you are taking baby steps continuously on a daily basis. All big changes start from small ones, and the secret of getting ahead is getting started now and getting things done constantly.    

                                                                      Robin老师感恩COVID-19危机下的学习机遇    

     外籍教师Robin表示，在全球局势异常紧张的背景下，当其它国家还在承受流行病困扰的时候，我们能坐在一起，必须感谢这个国家的人们所做出的努力。她鼓励大家，在如此和平的环境中奋发学习。 Our Canadian lecturer Robin says, I'm thinking of today as an occasion for gratitude that in the midst of so much anxiousness in the world, we are afforded the opportunity to work together in a good way for a good purpose. Your mission here is a deeply optimistic one. And she further encourages all the candidates to stay committed to our noble pursuit in such a peacefullearning environment.

       贵州大学李博学员表示，相聚是美丽的，学习是幸福的，收获是快乐的。培训是教师最大的福利，我们暂时放下手中的科研、教学工作，离开心爱的家人，都是为了未来能取得更大的进步。  Mr. Li Bo from Guizhou University expresses  his back-to-school excitement. He says, this is a beautiful get-together, and learning is a true delight. Professional training is a precious perk foruniversity teachers. We put aside our research and teaching tasks, leave our beloved ones to join this vibrant learning community. We believe that all ourefforts will be paid off.
